Two Great Hvar Facebook Pages

There is no denying that social media has changed the way we access information, and the power of Twitter and Facebook to relay words and images around the globe in an instant is both amazing and a little intimidating. We posted a news article yesterday summarising the Carnival on Hvar with video from the kindergartens in Jelsa and Stari Grad, and received grateful thanks from South America several minutes later. 

The sheer volume of pictures and information passing through Facebook is bewildering, and so we thought we would introduce you to just a couple of Facebook pages to get you started, two of our favourites.

- the original, the biggest and still the best. With 9,835 friends at time of writing, the first Hvar FB page has the best global reach, and a stunning island photo can have dozens of Facebook likes from around the globe in minutes. Some great photos, videos and general information about all things Hvar. If not a friend yet, why not sign up and let's get the first Hvar Facebook page with 10,000 friends by the start of the season. Check it out , and feel free to like the donkey picture above. 

A great treasure chest of information is contained in the Twitter and Facebook accounts of , and while there are many pages sharing the most popular posts, Sinisa manages to unearth some gems which are not reported elsewhere, such as the fashion model photography course in Ivan Dolac, which led to the unearthing of this picture in Jelsa:

 

The Secret Hvar FB pages reflects the secrets of Hvar, from Sinisa's fantastic photograph collection, to the hidden spots on his outstanding off-road Jeep safari and heritage tours, to just some great shots of the island. Here is his latest album, entitled , and you can also enjoy a video slideshow of his unique Arctic Safari below, taken from pictures on his page.
