Photo Blog: The Wonders of the Adriatic

We have written previously on the wonders of the Adriatic sea, and the treasures contained therein. An unfortunately titled piece Mediterranean Monk Seals Off Hvar Island sparked off a religious man hunt, while the blog and video about dolphins playing with tourist boats was one of the most popular.

And now this, expertly snapped by our good American friend Robert Aronson in Split. Sometimes words fail, and one can only call a spade a spade, or in this case a ladder standing upright in the Adriatic for no apparent reason a ladder standing upright in the Adriatic for no apparent reason.

The shot was taken in Split harbour last November. Does anyone have ANY idea what it was doing there, and who put it there, and why? Perhaps you have a funny caption for the picture - a free beer at Cafe Splendid in Jelsa for the best entry.

This makes me think about what a famous Zen-boeddhist monk once said:
"The miracle is not to walk on water. The miracle is to walk on the green earth, dwelling deeply in the present moment, and feeling truly alive."

This might be another miracle :-)
