There have been limited opportunities for those wishing to windsurf on Hvar in recent times, with many going over to Bol to take advantage of the facilities there, but things are changing...

Total Hvar was delighted to catch with Bota Agency from Vrboska over a coffee in the warmth of the Dalmatino cafe in the town recently, and learned more of the activities of the agency, including an activity which is quite hard to organise on Hvar for some reason - windsurfing.

No longer! Bota offers a full windsurfing service, from beginners to advanced, including individual and group courses, and equipment rental and storage. Check out their video below. 

According to Bota, in high season, the wind is perfect for beginners until noon, and in the afternoon the advanced surfers enjoy stronger winds Maestral or Bura 3 to 6 bufor.

In pre and post-season the most common winds are Jugo 3 to 7 bufor and Bura up to 8 bufor.
